Universal Serial Bus (USB) is now the de facto standard for connecting a device or peripheral to a computer, be it of the PC or Apple format. There are however many legacy products and many non-PC related products that still use a serial port interface. The USB to serial port adapter from Dayton Audio allows you to overcome the connectivity issues associated with using older computer devices with newer computers and laptops. Attach the adapter to the DB-9 serial input of your device and attach a USB cable (included) between the PC and adapter, your peripheral device will operate like before. Connection is made much easier supporting plug-n-play and hot-swap operation. The adapter is compliant with USB 1.1 and 2.0 specifications, Windows 98 SE/ME/2000/XP, and Mac OS 8.6 or greater. Power is provided by the USB bus for added convenience. A driver disk and 36" connection cable is included with each USB to serial port adapter.
